A Year in Photos: 2015

Hello there! The retrospective photo post is the best kind of post, amiright?

This year will be remembered most awesomely as being the year we bought our first house. (!!!) It has a yellow door and lots of character (ahem, what others would call room for improvement); we love it and it instantaneously felt like home.

And, what an amazing year of travel! Miami, Key West, Naples, Orlando, Marion, Atlanta, and Chicago.

This year was one of the good ones. So many memories to hold on to for the rest of our lives. *insert smiling emoji with the rosy-red cheeks here*

On to the photos! (You can take a look at past years here: 2014, 2013, 2012.)

Wedding Anniversary Photo Opp Idea

On our anniversary trip to Marfa earlier this month, Chris and I wanted to do something to commemorate our wedding last year since we were traveling back for the first time to the place where we met. We ending up deciding to take our pie topper from our reception with us and pose it, gnome-style, all over town. I think this would have also worked really well with any other easy-to-transport item from your wedding, like a banner or sign or frame. Pretty cute, eh? I can just imagine these little guys running around Marfa listening to this Kishi Bashi song.

Cindy Sherman at the DMA

Getting excited about seeing the Cindy Sherman exhibit at the DMA this weekend. I just read this on the museum website: In addition, the exhibition includes a site-specific photographic mural produced in 201112, on view for the first time in the United States. YES.

Vivian Maier

S: I can't wait for this Vivian Maier documentary to come out. You can read more about her here and here.

From the New York Times article:
The still unfolding legend of Vivian Maier has been one of photographic genius discovered only after a lifetime of shooting. Now hailed as a master of street photography, she spent most of her working life in obscurity as a nanny in New York, where she was born, and Chicago, where she died in 2009 at age 83.

Some of Vivian's amazing photos:
